Girls on the Run® (GOTR) of the Rockies uses the power of running to change the way girls see themselves and their opportunities! It is an innovative health education and wellness program that uniquely combines training for a 3.1 mile run/walk event with life-changing, self esteem enhancing lessons that encourage healthy habits and an active lifestyle in 8-13 year old girls. Girls learn to stretch themselves - physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally - and in the process, gain the skills needed to live a life full of self-respect and healthy habits.
- Girls on the Run of the Rockies offers after school programs throughout the greater Denver area, Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Fort Collins. A list of current program locations is listed on our sites pages.
- Girls on the Run of of the Rockies is a non-profit program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. Our mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.
- Our Programs, led by certified, volunteer Girls on the Run coaches, run for 10 weeks twice a year - fall and spring. Participants meet twice a week for 60 - 90 minutes.
- Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K running event with healthy living education.
- Our programs instill self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training - all through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, and the community.
- Girls on the Run is More than a running program...
